Sitting at the hectic intersection between technology and entertainment, Mike Johns is a sought-after negotiator brokering deals with Microsoft, T-Mobile, NBC, and ESPN to name just a few. Most recently, Johns brokered a groundbreaking deal for iHeart Radio closely followed by a deal for Radio One.

Johns began his career as mobile content provider for T-Mobile. From there, he rapidly leveraged his expertise to become an in-demand content provider serving telecom companies such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint.
Most notably, his forte is joining creative marketing concepts with non-traditional revenue streams, brand positioning, media buying, organizing unique events coupled with innovative public relations strategies. By doing so, Johns helps to generate significant revenue for established brands.

With a Jamaican hard-core work ethic, innovative marketing principles, and his sharp eye for talent, Johns puts his “mobile touch” on brands such as Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z, Oscar-winning rap duo Three Six Mafia and Remy Ma, Jerry Springer and Maury Povich—even former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. All of their careers were launched into super-stardom with Johns’ unique blend talents.

Today, Johns focuses on creating innovative experiences for emerging technologies in unexpected environments. He is also a founding member of I Am Digital, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting digital literacy and creating smart cities for its citizens. He is working to tailor STEAM/STEM learning in the U.S., Jamaica, and a number of developing countries worldwide.

Since its inception, I Am Digital has helped train a legion of teachers, students including government officials on the importance of digital literacy and its impact on the future of work. Johns is most passionate about how data and technologies of yesterday and today can be made to help shape a better tomorrow.

Mike Johns knows that as automation continues and we see the rise of artificial intelligence, robots and other nascent technologies such as blockchain entering the workforce, there is massive disruption of jobs. The pandemic has expedited this change, forcing businesses to find efficient ways to connect outside of the office, and most of these changes are here to stay. Johns works with large and small organizations, from Fortune 500s to startups to develop a crisis response to include a new operating model, clear goals, and a replacement of corporate bureaucracy with a focus on staff development. Mike Johns leverages his network to craft experiences that evokes powerful emotions, build intimacy and grows the organizations culture overtime.

There is no exact method to predict the future, however, Mike Johns knows that as the world begins to move into the post-COVID-19 era, leaders need to commit to forward thinking. Microsoft research has indicated that if broadband access was counted more precisely, the number of Americans without it would be closer to 163 million people. We have a vast number of households lacking Internet access, and the spread of the coronavirus has only increased the importance of digital skills. 5% of my proceeds goes to support I Am Digital a 501 (C) (3) non profit organization I created focused on providing Internet access, education, digital literacy, STEAM learning and the future of work skills for the global underserved markets .
